With win, Warriors are striding, not sliding from Mercury
With a 94-89 victory Saturday over the Houston Rockets, it appears the Warriors have escaped the trouble they were in just a week ago. They had lost five in a row and eight of 10, but now are sporting a three-game win streak.
And after a difficult first month of the season, the Warriors have survived a challenging December -- which included a five-game trip and two games against world champion Detroit -- and take into the new year a winning record (17-14) and some momentum.
``It was a tough month, but we got some wins,'' said Jason Richardson, who had 22 points, six rebounds and five assists against Houston. ``It was kind of looking bleak. We were losing a lot of games. It was a tough road. But guys stuck in there.''
