Dun 44 : Part I

We're not so sure giving Mike Dunleavy that 5 year $44 Million contract made much sense. Intead of letting the season play out and seeing if Dunleavy could earn a big pay day, the Warriors (mis)management payed him a ton of loot based on that "P" word- potential.

Back when Fantasy Junkie and I were 14, we attended a basketball camp where the Shot Doctor dropped some serious knowledge. The legendary Shot Doctor has worked with tons of NBA pros to make their shooting stroke as smooth as Ray Allen's. Anyway, the Shot Doctor gave us some very valuable advice.
If someone says you have potential, that's the greatest insult. It means you haven't done anything.
According to that definition, Dunleavy has a TON of potential.

Unlike the 2005 Draft, Mullin didn't check the Golden State Warriors BLOG for advice on whether or not to resign Dunleavy. It's too bad. This might be the bad contract that locks the Warriors into mediocrity for the next 4 years. Well, what's dun is dun. But just for the record...

44 Reasons why giving Mike Dunleavy 44million wasn't the brightest idea
(a 4 part series)

1. Grant Hill and his half ankle have more hops than Dunleavy.

2. His game is scary for the wrong reasons.

3. On defense he doesn't exactly stay in front of his man.

4. All those missed open shots. All those bricks.

5. Dunleavy always looks lost on the court. Should've went to college- oh wait, he did.

6. Most of his 3 seasons with the Warriors have been unwatchable.

7. Dunleavy has never delivered as a #3 overall draft pick.

8. Good things happen when he's on the bench... seriously!

9. His TV show sucked.

10. His interviews are always so boring.

11. Opposing BIG men relish the opportunity to to post up on him.

Keep checking back for 33 more reasons...

Feel free to post or email us any of your analysis.

Pawnograffiti- we appreciate the comments, but in the future please keep it PG. Okay we'll go for PG-13, but please keep it clean.

22 reasons (so far) and that's your only comment? Hahaha, I thought we'd spark more conversation than that.

Looking forward to hearing your response.
