Monty's Excited

So before training camp moves to the rough weather in Hawaii, Monty has become excited about the upcoming season for the Warriors. If you're in Oahu from October 3-13 you might be able to catch one of the Warriors' practices or scrimmages. Why is it that football teams practice in some of the worst places ever but basketball teams practice in paradise? Monty does need some sun however. He seems a little pale. So that farmer boy tan he's going to get will look great. But I digress. Monty knows who the key to the Warriors is and that they must shoot and defend well to win. And that's what training camp will be focused on.
"We're a pretty good percentage shooting team,'' Montgomery said. "If we can learn how to play off one another I think we will cause people problems with match-ups. Obviously, Baron is a big key to that. . . . He's bound and determined to come in here and make an impact. His willingness to make others better surprised me a little bit.''

Looking to the coming season, Montgomery said, "We have to score points. We're not going to be a bang-it-out team. We have to score points. We have to be willing to shoot threes. Guys should be shooting in the upper 40s (percentage) for twos and upper 30s for threes. You have to get the right people shooting the right shot.

"But we have to play better defense. That's just hard work, team defense. It doesn't change.''
