Summer School

Diogu going to school in summer by Marcus Thompson II for the SJ Mercury

In some ways, it was a tough summer league for Warriors first-round pick Ike Diogu.

His summer league coach, Mario Elie, called him out in the first game. He was challenged by giants such as Boston Celtics power forward Al Jefferson, Washington Wizards 7-foot-3, 275-pound center Peter John Ramos, and Portland Trail Blazers 7-3, 305-pound center Ha Seung Jin. He was dunked on.

Then there were signs of brilliance: Diogu had 37 points and 12 rebounds in the Warriors' 100-76 victory over Phoenix to close the summer league.
