No Regrets for Monta

Warriors pick not deterred: High School Star Still has No Regrets from the SJ Mercury

But the draft was a cold slap of reality. For months those around Ellis -- a guard who averaged 38.4 points last season in high school and was Parade magazine's co-player of the year -- told him he was a lock to be a first-round pick, and maybe even a lottery selection. That's why he passed up a Mississippi State scholarship.

Instead of guaranteed millions, Ellis has no assurances he will even make the Warriors' roster. The team likes his potential, but he'll have to earn a spot, starting Friday when Golden State's squad begins play at the Reebok Vegas Summer League.

Anyone see this kid play? wow 38 pts a game is pretty good even in the highschool scene. we got a couple good summer players that could make our roster next year!
