Monty Ranks

The NBA Source ranks the NBA Head Coaches. The Warriors Mike Montgomery is ranked the 26th best coach in the league.

The former Stanford Cardinal coach was considered a puzzling choice to be the Warriors head coach coming into last season, but he showed a lot of poise and growth in his inaugural year after leading Golden State to a 18-9 record in the last two months of the season. Expectations are exceedingly high in Oakland for next season, so it's important Montgomery sustain the same momentum right from the get-go, otherwise he might have to go-get another job.

We're not saying he can't get better and improve his rank, but as of right now 26th sounds about right. A question that is sure to draw some fiery discussion, how would you rate Coach Montgomery as an NBA Coach?

sdshots-
Always good to hear from you on our comments boards. We can tell you're a huge Warriors fan and a frequenter at the BLOG.

I'm a little curious about how you can depict us as "proclaim[ing] extreme negativity". Look back through our archives. What are you specifically referring to? You'll be hard pressed to find negativity, but you will find a LOT of humor and analysis as sharp as anyone in the local sports media.

Talking all that smack? Sure, we've dissed Dunleavy thoroughly:

http://goldenstwarriors.blogspot.com/2005/03/worst-3.html

but if you're reading only bitterness you're reading us wrong. You should be able to tell from the pictures that there's a lot of humor involved (and believe you me, we've got something HILARIOUS in the works).

Look back through our archives- where is "all the smack" about Ike and Monty? The day Ike got drafted we joked around that he reminded us of Fortson (who I personally liked). That's not exactly talking smack. He's a Warrior and we're down with Ike. We never mind criticism, but we do mind inaccuracy.

When the Warriors start winning, no one will be happier than us. Find somewhere where we've said a ton of negative things about the 2005-2006 Warriors. You will see analysis of their holes, but you aren't going to see "negative stuff."

When "Dunleavy breaks" out as you claim, every joke we've ever made will still be up on this site in the archives. Have fun- call us on anything. I think it's safe to say that even if Dunleavy becomes an All Star he won't be our favorite Warrior. If Dunleavy blows up, call us out- none of us right now think he has it in him.

You might want to be cautious about referring to us just as "bloggers". There's nothing amateur going on here.

Questioning our credibility is pretty strange. Any jokes or criticism we've made has been based on real happenings. Please point us to what you are referring too.

A final shot- you seem to be mistaking a lot of our humor as negativity. Whenever you read this site always keep in mind that it's the product of 6 crazy Warriors fans who routinely crack bad jokes and cheer the loudest in the arena for one of the worst franchises in all of sports for the past decade. If there's anyone who's looking forward to this upcoming season, it's us.

As always we love to hear everyone's feedback on the board and via email at goldenstwarriors@gmail.com

We read EVERY word you write!

PEACE,
Atma Brother #1 (Soul Brother #1)
