Cheaney exercises option for next season with Warriors
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- Calbert Cheaney exercised his player option Thursday to return to the Golden State Warriors next season.
The option is worth approximately $1.6 million, Cheaney's salary this season.
Cheaney, a 12-year NBA veteran, has spent the last two seasons with the Warriors, intermittently contributing as a backup on the young team. The 33-year-old averaged 4.5 points in 55 games last season, but sat out the last five weeks with a sprained right ankle.
The Warriors bench will be that much warmer next season.

Damn, Calbert Cheaney must have the best season ticket plan. Most people have to wait years to get court level tickets and pay big bucks. Cheaney's only been with the Warriors for 2 years AND he gets paid 1.6 million. What kind of season ticket holder plan is that?-- Sign me up!
