Preview: Warriors at Clippers

The 6-4 Golden State Warriors take on the 7-2 Los Angeles Clippers this afternoon at 12:30 PST. The Dubs are are coming off a solid Friday win over the Blazers. Let's hope they can keep up the great defense and pull off a key win against the division leading Clips. Yes, you read that right- the Clippers are in 1st place in the Pacific.

A big reason for the Clips early success has been the stellar play of Sam Cassell. The Warriors must contain him and stop him from getting the ball down to the Brand- Maggette duo. If JRich and Baron can shut down Cassell and Mobley, expect the Warriors' to pick up their first division win of the season. If not then, then it's going to be a long afternoon with Brand dominating down low.

Junior meets Senior. Mike Dunleavy Jr. meets his accomplished father in this matchup. Senior Dunleavy knows his son's game. Look for Mike to struggle against his Dad and the Clippers. I wonder what it's like to coach against your son. "Corey [Maggette]- post Junior up. He's got nothing on you!"

Their have been some whisperings around the web that Ike will be coming back soon. It would be especially fun if he played today. In the days leading up to the 2005 draft, people compared Ike to Brand. Hopefully, this comparison has some merit and we can see what the buzz was all about today.

The Clips owned the Warriors last season, winning all 4 matchups. If the Warriors are going to make the playoffs they have to hold their own in their division. It all starts today... Go DUBS!
