Wednesday Warrior Words, 10/26/05

There's only 1 week until the regular season opener against the Hawks next Wednesday, November 2nd, at the Arena. Let's hand out the Wednesday Warrior Words for last week's comments.

As much as I'd like to give it to still boz ballin for his "Legler can lick me where I s**t." comment, I had to restrain. Thanks though, I was laughing my ass off. I'll have to give it to mikej again for his post on They Shootin'. Here's part of it, if you haven't checked it out. mikej points out that more important than improving the field goal shooting is the need to improve their free throw shooting and interior defense:
Baron will get fouled even more this year than last, with people gunning for him and with him zipping past more people at his lighter weight. Adding 10 (percentage) points to his free-throw percentage would translate into 1-2 more points per game for him. Then there's Adonal and Andris, who shoot free throws terribly and know it and whom we can only hope will improve--it's worth, again, 1-2 points per game between them...

Much bigger than those small gains to be had via free throws is the looming potential for improved interior defense as Diogu and Biedrins mature. Each one has exceptional reactions for his size, and I predict that each will play a major role in improving the Warriors defense and making them a real championship team over the next 3 years.
As always, thanks to everyone who reads our articles and leaves comments. Keep the comments coming. The regular season is almost here!
