Dunleavy's Versatility May be the Difference

There's no question point guard Baron Davis is the Warriors' best player. There's no disputing that guard Jason Richardson is right behind him. The two have to play well for the Warriors to be successful.I disagree with Marcus Thompson's assessment. The Warriors need the role players to step up period. Whether that's Dunleavy or one of the other players, Murphy, Foyle, Pietrus, etc, will determine whether the Warriors make the playoffs or not. I'm willing to bet that if Dunleavy was lost for the year, the Warriors could still make the playoffs. This team is about Baron, JRich, and a deep supporting cast. Sure Dunleavy's absence would hurt, but there's someone who will step in and take up the slack. Anyways, what do you think?

He knocked down six consecutive shots in the first quarter, four from 3-point range. He led the fast break when Davis was trapped in the backcourt, making all the right decisions on where to go with the ball.
Do the Warriors need Dunleavy to be their 3rd best player to make the playoffs?

Okay if Baron gets injured, sure Dunleavy is needed to take part of the responsiblity off of fisher, miles, and ellis to create. But if Baron goes down this team is going nowhere because Dun cannot run the point nor create shots for others consistently nor can anyone else on the team.
PS: In the article, nowhere does Baron say Mike is the X-factor or we need Mike. Here's what he says, the only thing he is quoted saying about Mikey, "There's going to be some nights where he's going to score big for us and there's going to be some nights where he won't," Davis said. Mike will be helpful in the long run. Not the X-factor, not the 3rd best player on the team. "Really helpful" to me is what I wrote on the post, "The Warriors need the role players to step up period. Whether that's Dunleavy or one of the other players, Murphy, Foyle, Pietrus, etc, will determine whether the Warriors make the playoffs or not." So they need all their role players to be "really helpful."
